So today i will be writing about my "MISE EN SCENE" 

The movie/ Film 

Clueless

What mood or atmosphere is created? The mood was romantic and funny. The scene takes place at a bright high school classroom very close like high school musical. The lighting is soft and warm, making everything feel dreamy. The color as well includes bright tones, which matches the playful and flirty style of the movie.


How are the characters represented? The protagonist wears stylish, colorful costume pieces that shows that she is very fashionable and popular. Her make-up is light and polished, and her confident body language shows that she's used to being admired and looked at. When she sees the new male students, her wide-eyed facial expression and dreamy smile shows that she is instantly in love with him. The new male wears trendy clothes like an old money style and has a cool attitude, making him look charming and mysterious.

How are the audience encouraged to respond to the characters? We may feel excited and curious on what's going to happen next. The protagonist's reaction makes us laugh, but we also want to know more about the boy. Her dramatic response, like gasping, staring, and makes the moment feel bigger than life.

How is mise-en-scene used to provide narrative information? The location in in a high school classroom, which shows this is a part of an everyday school life. The props like, desks, books, and backpacks make it feel real. Cher's reaction tells us she's looking for love and sees this man as a perfect match. The dreamy music and slow motion add the romantic feeling.

Denotation: A girl sees a new male in class and instantly falls for him.

Connotation: Teen crushes can feel the magical and dramatic, even in everyday places.
