Media Study

So today in class, we took notes on elements of film, and we've just learned a new topic, which was editing. It was very interesting learning new things, and writing my own notes helps me maintain my work and helps me focus better. 

  The short film/ movie I’ve chosen was Dre it was a award winning short film  In my opinion this film was on a practitioner level. What made it this level was the camera angles and the music fitting into the scenes perfectly. I really enjoyed how the angles and movements were all different and took. In the beginning of the film, it caught my attention on the part where the guy was going to rob the gas station, but the other black guy on the side, stopped it from happening and said that the robber can take whatever he has instead of robbing the place. In my opinion, the camera work and editing were on point but one point I would make is that the quality didn’t yet meet the top requirement.  Near the ending of the video, I really enjoyed the meaning and the theme that the movie was coming across.   So today i will be writing about my "MISE EN SCENE"  The movie/ Film  Clueless What mood or atmosphere is created? The mood was romantic and funny. The scene takes place at a bright high school classroom very close like high school musical. The lighting is soft and warm, making everything feel dreamy. The color as well includes bright tones, which matches the playful and flirty style of the movie. How are the characters represented? The protagonist wears stylish, colorful costume pieces that shows that she is very fashionable and popular. Her make-up is light and polished, and her confident body language shows that she's used to being admired and looked at. When she sees the new male students, her wide-eyed facial expression and dreamy smile shows that she is instantly in love with him. The new male wears trendy clothes like an old money style and has a cool attitude, making him look charming and mysterious. How are the audience encouraged to respond to the characters? ...
